How we work.

How our team approaches a portfolio of business, productivity, infrastructure, and security products: clear thinking, focused work, and deliberate releases.

Three ivory workflow prototypes on drafting paper beside a notebook and pencil.
Four articles of faith
I.

Independence over scale.

We are funded by our customers, not investors. Which means we can take our time, say no, and build for decades — not quarters. We've turned down acquisition offers four times.

II.

Async, by default.

A couple dozen people, working remotely across the US with almost no meetings. We write things down, work in long focused stretches, and trust each other to ship when it's ready.

III.

Quiet software.

We don't fight for your attention. No streaks, no badges, no notification-as-engagement. Our products try to be useful, then get out of your way.

IV.

Built to outlast us.

We obsess over data ownership, exportability, and longevity. The work you put into our products belongs to you, forever. If we ever close, the doors stay unlocked.

In practice

We write before we meet

Most decisions happen in documents, not calls. Writing forces clarity and leaves a trail anyone can catch up on, wherever they're working from.

We work in long stretches

No standups, almost no recurring meetings. We protect the multi-hour blocks where the actual work gets done.

We ship when it's ready

Not when a sprint ends. Small, frequent, reversible releases beat big risky ones, every time.

We say no a lot

Most feature requests are good ideas that would make the product worse. Restraint is the job.
